Had a great experience working with Alan David Custom. I got a sport coat and a suit, though I've only had a chance to wear the sport coat, which I got before the pandemic. I got a lot of compliments from friends on the fit, and I have to give credit to my wife and the staff who helped me pick a good fabric.

From top to bottom, a simply great first custom suit experience. I believe I had 3-4 appointments regarding the suit choices, insider patterns, and fit and Alan had been present for all but one appointment. The attention to detail is evident. Alan helped me realize that no matter your body type or silhouette, proper suiting can and should be done.

From the onset of the first appointment, Alan asked about my current suits, what I was looking for and how often I suit up. That set the stage for color, and style recommendations. Alan was patient and not out to just placate me.

During the final fitting, I thought they were putting on with how good the suit came out, but the suit really and truly came out beautifully. It's quite a feeling to have a custom suit, I'm thankful for the opportunity and Alan's tremendous help. As well as even the storage tips from Neil.

I recommend you give them your business for a custom suit, wedding jacket, etc.

Good:
-I found the company very communicative, whether it was voicemails or emails, I was always in the loop
-I did not find the staff pushy, the combined years of experience is apparent.
-I loved the clarifying questions they would ask to help me express what I was feeling, "How do you feel when you sit down?"
-If you cannot tell, I LOVE MY SUIT

Disclosure: I got a Yelp deal for a suit here. I had seen ads plenty of times, but once I saw the deal, I was on board to check it out.

I was in the market for a navy suit. I am a bike racer on the side, so I have an odd shape (skinny) and nothing off the rack ever fits. I often get custom or even full bespoke clothes made, but it can get expensive very quickly.

From the first meeting to each fitting to final pick-up, the staff here was amazing - very friendly, engaged and customer-focused. They took their time with me to find the right fabric for the suit as well as a nice option for the suit lining. They also took their time with the measurements, asking me questions about my workday (walking around, sitting, etc.), and how I liked my suits to fit, etc. It was a collaboration as I had some definite must-haves, and they took them into consideration, not lecturing me or being condescending at all. It was a pleasure working with them on this part.

I came back a few weeks later for the first fitting. I was blown away. It is rare that the first fitting is more than 50-60% right. Usually, there is 1, maybe 2 more fittings. My first fitting was about 95% perfect. A few small adjustments needed and I came back in 2 weeks to pick up a perfect suit.

The workmanship is excellent as is the service. I will definitely come back for more clothing. These guys are the best!

Impeccable. This is the first time in my life that I had someone close to me get a custom suit and now I can't imagine life before Alan David (and the suit was for my fiancé, not me).

Do you know how hard it is to find an excellent tailor? I do. I won't get into that here, but when we were planning our wedding attire, I was admittedly a bit fearful for Danny. Because I knew that our Manhattan Yelp Elites had an incredible event here back over the summer, I reached out to Alan via Yelp who responded to me within minutes to set up an appointment. I had initially contacted a few places but it seemed like it would take forever to get an appointment (and many of these appointments for grooms now seem to be parties in and of themselves. No thanks. We were in a time crunch with just 2 months until our wedding).

Danny was whisked in for a fitting and consultation and he was very much impressed with the professionalism and expertise of the staff. He was confident that they got his vision (vintage in style and spirit, pinstripe). The suit was made in just about a month, Danny went in for a final fitting and everything was ready a couple weeks before our wedding.

I'm attaching a photo to this review so that you can see for yourselves how gorgeous this suit is. I will end this review by saying 1. I was extremely envious of the high quality and craftsmanship of the suit and wished they did wedding gowns as well. One thing I particularly loved was the interior lining of the suit which had a guitar pattern that Danny picked out. Such a lovely touch! 2. Full disclosure that the generous discount extended to our Manhattan Elites was offered to us for this suit. That said, the price without a discount is astonishingly fair and I will be recommending Alan David to just about everyone I know that needs a custom suit for a special occasion.

A+ experience, A+ service, A+ hospitality, A+ professionalism. I came into Alan David looking for a new Navy Blue work suit. Since this was my first bespoke experience in the US, Alan was incredibly professional and during our initial consultation, he walked me through the whole bespoke process that is being done at Alan David Custom. There were a ton of questions that he asked such as how often I wear a suit, what kind of occasions would I wear it etc. just to get a sense on what I was looking for and to match a suit for my needs. A+ for that attention to detail.

When I told Alan that I needed a Navy colored suit, he walked me through all sorts of options that I can get for that color. There were honestly way too many options to pick! Alan was very thoughtful and patient, and guided me towards all the different options that I can pick after narrowing down the different shades/patterns of navy blue. I ended up choosing the sharkskin blue, which was a lighter shade of blue in between a navy and a royal blue. Also choose the specific features of the suit, so it definitely felt customized to myself and my liking! I was then measured up, and was told the whole process would take ~4 weeks to get the initial garment tailored and manufactured.

4 weeks later came in for an initial fitting. Joris took care of the fitting process for me, and adjusted the garment based on my preferences such as making the legs a little slimmer and tapering the back of the jacket. The alteration process took about a week or so, and came back for another round of fitting. I was thoroughly impressed with how the final product looked. Definitely Alan David takes the bespoke process very seriously, and I can say I am a very happy client to be doing business with them!

Also, you get free life time alterations for whatever suit you get. So if you gain a few pounds or loss some wait, just call their team, bring the suit over, and they'll have it fixed! Great customer service with this offering!

Overall? Highly recommend Alan David and their team to get your next suit - be it for a wedding, work, or other formal function. The attention to detail, professionalism, and how friendly the team at Alan David is incredible. Thank you so much!

I will update this review once we pick up our suit next month. We are soooo pleased to have chosen Alan David Custom for my fiance's groom suit. My fiance wanted his suit to have reusable value; he didn't want to wear a white tux he'd only have use for on our wedding day. Makes sense. We knew, given my fiance's broad shoulders and slim waist, that he would need a custom suit.

We went to Brooks Brothers at first who said 1) it'll take them 5 months and 2) it'll start at $4k.

We passed on that.

Finally we found Alan David Custom. We now live in Raleigh, NC -- but were up in NYC visiting family for the holidays. So we made an appointment, not really knowing what to expect, and were so pleasantly surprised by everything. My fiancé had his measurements done (they take measurements of EVERYTHING -- you can tell they are extremely precise) and I chose the lining for his suit. They had a great assortment of fabrics to choose from. We left feeling like this was a good decision.

The suit should be ready by next month, at which point we'll need to return, make sure it fits, and see what else (if anything) needs to be done. My fiancé is particularly excited about his new suit, as am I. These guys are the real deal. Especially if this is your first bespoke experience, as it was for us, I highly recommend Alan David.
