At Alan David Custom our expertise lies in our 100+ years of measuring & tailoring skills. The garments we commission are tailored to fit your individual body-true bespoke attire. To ensure the highest possible quality, all of our custom made suits are proudly made in the USA.

Your measurements will be taken by one of our old-world bespoke tailors or master fitters. Each set of measurements is interpreted and cut into your own individual paper pattern. It requires many hours of meticulous sewing, performed by the highest skilled skilled tailors and master craftsmen, to assemble your custom garment.

To ensure a bespoke fit, Alan David offers by request, a “throw away” fitting for each client. This throw away garment is cut from house fabric and allows the client to see and feel the fit & style of the garment. At this fitting, the client has the option of changing anything about the fit and style he desires. Its an extra check that ensures a perfect fit the very first time.

Our standard turnaround time for garments is four to five weeks. However, we confidently offer a 2-week turnaround for clothing and a 1-week turnaround for shirts.

Despite our bespoke quality standards, our garments remain affordable.

Yes, our basted fittings provide a premium custom tailoring experience by allowing for precise adjustments during the suit-making process. Through hand-stitching the garment temporarily with basting thread, clients can make key changes before finalizing the suit. This process offers a true bespoke fit, ensuring a garment that perfectly aligns with the client’s measurements and preferences.

Typically two fittings are required to ensure the perfect fit, although occasionally a third may be necessary. Our commitment to excellence means that we provide our clients with the opportunity to connect with our master tailors during these fittings, ensuring a personalized and precise outcome.

At Alan David Custom, we stand by our commitment to client satisfaction by offering free alterations for the life of the garment. If you experience weight fluctuations, our skilled tailors will make the necessary alterations at no additional charge. While we do not recut the garment for larger sizing alterations, our family-oriented approach ensures that we prioritize our client’s needs whenever possible.

Alan David offers a 100% refund to any client not fully satisfied. As a matter of fact, any garment that does not fit correctly after 2 fittings automatically gets recut. A true bespoke suit should look the part after just one fitting. The more fittings and alterations the garment goes through the more and more it looks and fits like an off-the-rack suit.

While visualizing a custom suit from a small swatch may be challenging, our showroom is stocked with a diverse range of custom garments. Even if the exact swatch isn’t available, we have close alternatives for you to try on and see which suits your preferences.

Dry clean as infrequently as possible. The heat of the iron can cause damage to the canvas of the jacket when it’s done too often. You should only send the garment to the dry cleaner when it is dirty. You can ask them to press it instead of dry cleaning it to spruce it up.
